Serve the Community
Special Events are a vital component of Pequot Library’s fundraising efforts, helping the Library to raise 75% of its annual operating costs. Each fundraising event – from galas to book sales – is an opportunity to engage and serve the community, as well as fund the services, programs, and exhibitions offered for free at Pequot Library throughout the year.
There is no admission charge for the sales, and all proceeds support our lending library services, our robust roster of programs and events, our Special Collections exhibitions, and our School Outreach tours. Books and media are generously donated year-round in the Shed off the Library parking lot.
Pequot Library also offers curated online book sales. Item descriptions will be available seven days prior to the start of each sale, and items will be available for inspection as well. All materials have been donated to Pequot Library by our generous supporters.
Summer Book Sale
2020 Summer Book Sale Update: Out of an abundance of concern for the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and patrons, Pequot Library will not be able to host its 60th Summer Book Sale in the traditional way this year. We are working hard to re-imagine the book sale and hope to be able to offer books for sale online, including used book “specials.” Stay tuned!
