From Meet the Author events to tours of our Special Collections, we have something for everyone. Almost all of our programs are free and open to the public.
Meet the Author
Pequot Library’s ongoing Meet the Author series provides an opportunity for writers and readers to meet, talk, listen, and learn with each other. Authors of both fiction and nonfiction have come to Pequot to give engaging lectures about their newest works in the Library’s historic Auditorium. Many Meet the Author events have focused on American history and politics, but other topics have ranged from famous athletes to crime thrillers to food and more.
After the author’s talk the floor is opened to questions where fruitful dialogues between the speaker and audience can begin. Once the question and answer section has concluded, Meet the Author events typically migrate into the Library’s cozy reading room where visitors have the opportunity to speak to the author and purchase a copy of their book.

Thanks to our partnership with libraries across the country, we offer online events each month with authors like Geraldine Brooks, Cassandra Clare, Joy Harjo, and Amor Towles, supplemented with in-person author events and in-person book clubs.Explore Upcoming Virtual Author Talks
