Sea Scouts Ship 84 has been sailing out of Southport Harbor since the 1930s. Currently sailing “The Resolution,” a 40-foot Hinckley Bermuda yawl, this co-ed youth leadership development program provides teens with the chance to go on day sails, overnights, and multi-day cruises on Long Island Sound while learning navigation and seamanship, and exploring maritime careers. Join Ship 84’s leaders, Erol Eyikan and Paul Lukas for stories of youth-led sailing adventures and a pitch for why learning these skills is still important in our 21st Century world. For families and adults.

This program is related to our exhibition Charting Your Course: Cutting Edge Navigation and Seafaringon view through May 11. This exhibition is sponsored by Connecticut Humanities. Photo: Ship 84 Sailing Facebook Page
