Sea Scouts Ship 84 has been sailing out of Southport Harbor since the 1930s. Currently sailing “The Resolution,” a 40-foot Hinckley Bermuda yawl, this co-ed youth leadership development program provides teens with the chance to go on day sails, overnights, and multi-day cruises on Long Island Sound while learning navigation and seamanship, and exploring maritime careers. Join Ship 84’s leaders, Erol Eyikan and Paul Lukas for stories of youth-led sailing adventures and a pitch for why learning these skills is still important in our 21st Century world. For families and adults.

This program will take place in Pequot Library’s auditorium. Enjoy an archive of materials related to Ship 84 sailing.

Make sure to visit our exhibition Charting Your Course: Cutting Edge Navigation and Seafaringon view through May 11. The exhibition is sponsored by Connecticut Humanities. Photo: Ship 84 Sailing Facebook Page
