Music for Youth and Pequot Library present Gjorgj Kroqi, celloist, and friends: “A Journey through the Romantic Repertoire.”

The public is invited to join us for an afternoon of music that celebrates the work of the great masters of the Romantic Era: Frédéric Chopin, David Popper and Robert Schumann. Mr. Kroqui has assembled a talented group of musicians who will lead us through this exciting journey in this multimedia presentation featuring works written for cello and piano.

Gjorgj Kroqi started playing cello at age of 6. He attended the music school “Prenk Jakova” in his native town of Shkoder, Albania. Mr. Kroqi earned his degree in cello performance and teaching in the “Academy of Fine Arts” in Tirana (Albania). Mr. Kroqi was the Music Director, Chamber Orchestra Conductor and Cello Coach of the Greater Waterbury Youth Symphony. Currently Mr. Kroqi is Conductor of Sinfonia Orchestra for the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras and is the orchestra director at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield.
