Immerse yourself in a musical journey and celebration of libraries with an afternoon of jazz. Join the libraries of Fairfield for the premiere of The Library Suite, an original composition written by local musician Mark Edinberg. From the energy of the Circulation Desk to the stillness of the Reading Room to the bustling Children’s Library, experience the many aspects of a modern library through the artistic expression of music and art in a multi-media program with images by David Pressler. Featuring Edinberg and his two sons, Joel and Dan Edinberg The Library Suite also introduces the audience to a new musical instrument invented by Edinberg’s son Joel, the Vindor, an electronic saxophone. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments served.

This program is part of a larger initiative with the Fairfield Public Library “Jazzed Up! Celebrating Libraries through Music, Art & New Technology” and is offered through State of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development Office of the Arts Regional Initiative Grant Program (REGI).
THE LIBRARY SUITE
The Library Suite, composed by Mark Edinberg, has 13 original jazz compositions and visual projections by David Pressler, all reflecting aspects of the modern library. The Library Suite also features the Vindor ES1, a new electronic woodwind.
