Adult Programs Manager Charlie McMahon leads a special tour for Library Giving Day. Pequot Library is an architectural gem listed on The National Register of Historic Places and the recipient of the 2018 CT Treasures Award. Learn about the history of the library, which was founded by Southport resident Virginia Marquand Monroe in 1889, while exploring the building’s iconic Tiffany & Company stained glass windows, original steel stacks, glass floors, reading rooms, and original fireplaces.

Private tours are also available and may be planned according to your schedule. Click here to request more information and schedule a tour.

#LibraryGivingDay is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library systems. Thanks to last year’s Library Giving Day contributions, Pequot Library was able to add an additional 330 print books and 50 e-Books to our circulating collection.
