Melissa Bernstein is the mother of six and the co-founder and chief creative officer of the toy company Melissa & Doug. Behind this outward success is a truth Melissa has rarely divulged — she has suffered her entire life with existential anxiety and depression. Her new book, LifeLines, is her journey about how she has found purpose, peace, and meaning. LifeLines is an essential read and tool for right now as millions of people are struggling with mental health issues. The prolonged global pandemic, lockdowns, deprivations, and lifestyle changes of the past year have exacerbated this crisis.
REgistration is now closed. Please click here to join the Zoom Webinar.
Deeply relatable and mission-driven: LifeLines’ goal is to help others find their path to meaning and inner peace. In addition to her book, Melissa is also building a vast mental wellness ecosystem to support seekers on their journeys. Melissa has launched:
- A highly interactive, free website (lifelines.com) with tools and content to provide a framework for each individual journey inward
- A community space of engagement, connection, and support
- Mindfulness and yoga videos from award-winning yoga instructors and thought leaders
- Experiential workshops driving personal growth
- And, coming in summer and fall 2021, events focused on the creative healing arts for self-soothing (crafting, fine art, cooking), and sensory engagement tools and products
Melissa will be in conversation with Trevor Crow. Trevor is a Certified Executive Coach, Author, Talk Show Host, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), and ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and Supervisor.
Trevor’s expertise in relationships is built on her EFT training and her high conflict couples and step family work. Her latest book Blending Families: Merging Households with Kids 8-18, co-authored with Maryann Karinch addresses the trickiest aspects of creating step families. With over 50% of American children live with a non biological parent and divorce rates for second marriages over 60%, helping families blend is one of Trevor’s missions in life.
Trevor believes that our well-being is profoundly affected by the quality of our relationships. Her aphorism “We Help” is supported by her testament, “When our connections with those surrounding us are safe and inclusive, we thrive.” In her 2013 book published by New Horizon Press, Forging Healthy Connections: How Relationships Fight Illness, Aging and Depression, co-authored with Maryann Karinch, Trevor’s theory is proven by science: the healthier our relationships are, the healthier we are physically, living longer and more productively.
Trevor has appeared as a guest speaker on “The Kerri Lee Mayland Show”, “Anderson Cooper”, and “The Bill Cunningham Show”. She has her own talk radio show on revolutionizing relationships and hosts a YouTube Channel series titled “Keeping Connected with Trevor Crow”. Trevor has interviewed numerous modern day intellectuals, scientists, notable psychologists, and authors in the field of relationships.
She currently resides in Connecticut. In her down time Trevor enjoys yoga, lots of hugs from her loved ones, trips to the beach, and winter sports.
