Applying to college? Join Pequot Library and Music for Youth for a panel discussion on the value of the arts in our lives and the impact of the arts on both the college application process and lifelong learning. Students and parents will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from New England Conservatory, The Juilliard School, and The Hartt School. Vendors who produce audition tapes will be available with information for students.
RSVP below.
This is the fourth year Pequot Library and Music for Youth are offering this popular program designed to help students learn how to use their artistic assets to enhance their college applications and make those applications stand out. The workshop will address ways to leverage students’ musical skills in the application process, discuss critical issues concerning financial planning, and review the importance of preparing recommendations, résumés, and recordings. Students will also explore the many ways in which one can pursue music within the college community as well as how participation can help build networks, open the door to opportunities, and elevate the college experience.
