Join Shoran Piper, Clan Mother of the Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe, for an afternoon program that explores the roots of agriculture in modern-day Fairfield. Shoran will discuss Native American agricultural practices, including the use of herbs and other plants, for medicines, teas, and oils. No exploration into indigenous farming would be complete without learning about the “three sisters” – corn, beans and squash. Shoran will share details about what makes these crops so important, as well as recipes and cultivation practices. Produced in conjunction with our exhibition The Lure of the Garden.

RSVP is appreciated but not required.

Registration includes a brief demographic survey that we are conducting to help better serve our community. Answers to demographic questions are optional and will be kept anonymous. Please complete these questions on behalf of the person attending the program/event.
