Cameron Chase returns to Pequot Library for an encore performance. Together, Pequot Library and Music for Youth offer the best emerging artists a stage to showcase their talents to the local community. Each artist is an extraordinary talent who is either attending a music conservatory program or in the process of applying.
Free and open to the public. No registration required.
About the Artist:
Cameron Chase, 18, started playing violin when he was 5. He studies with Regi Papa and also takes lessons with Hyo Kang and Naoko Tanaka. This year he graduated from the Pre-College Program at Juilliard. In 2016 he played Vieuxtemps violin concerto No. 5 with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra; in 2014 he won the ACO Concerto Competition where he played the first movement of Bruch violin concerto, and placed 2nd in the Musical Club of Hartford High School Competition. Under the direction of Maestro Jonathan Yates for two years Cameron was the concertmaster of the Principal orchestra of Norwalk Youth Symphony. He was thrilled to be part of Mr. Yates’ inaugural year at Music Mountain in 2015 and continued in 2016 & 2018. Other summer festivals included International Academy of Music in Italy, Bowdoin International Music Festival, The Chamber Music Institute for Young Musicians & Kinhaven. He has acted in seven Shakespearean productions with Penny Lane Players in Fairfield, CT. He lives in Stratford, CT and is a homeschooler.
