Come celebrate Earth Day 2023 with us! Tune into the deep, funky, and delightful sounds of nature at a live storytelling sound jam celebrating our creaturely connections to animals and place. Together, we will explore our sense of hearing and consider how nature communicates worlds to us when we listen. We will hear tales from local storytellers and participate in indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) listening explorations. Family friendly. All ages are welcome.

Meredith Barges, co-chair of Lights Out Connecticut and student policy researcher at Yale Law School, aims to make our cities and towns safer for migratory birds. In 2021, she convinced Yale Divinity School to join Lights Out. Most weekends, you can find her birding in East Rock Park or in the Yale DivFarm tending Milkweed, Coneflower, and Cosmos for pollinators.

Jordan Humphrey is finishing up a degree at Yale Divinity School, where he is studying to become a writer and an earth-chaplain. Originally from North Carolina, Jordan has spent the last decade leading backpacking trips through the Utah desert, working on farms as far away as New Zealand, and getting an MFA in creative writing in the Appalachian Mountains.
