Pequot Library Updates
Pequot Library has taken many steps to respect the health of our community as we gradually reopen our doors. We will always place the safety of our community first, acting in accordance with state and federal recommendations as well as those from the CDC and WHO.
Curbside Pickup
We are pleased to announce that Pequot Library is offering limited curbside pickup service Monday-Friday, in partnership with Fairfield Public Library and the Fairfield Woods Branch. Although the building will remain closed to patrons and reopening the Library will happen gradually, a limited number of staff will be available to assist those wanting to check out library books, audiobooks, and other physical materials in a safe manner. Once holds are placed and requested items are available, Library staff will contact patrons to schedule a contact-free pickup at Pequot Library’s front steps. The Library will be open for curbside pickup only, until further notice. Learn more
Returning Books
Our Book Drop is open 24/7. While book fines are still suspended, we are encouraging all patrons to return the items you have had at home during the months we have been closed. Please note, these items must be brought back in order for you to continue placing holds on materials. If these items are not returned, your account will unfortunately be blocked by our computer system. Materials can also be returned to the drop slots at the Fairfield Public Library and the Woods Branch Library.
Book Donations
Pequot Library is accepting used book donations once again. Donate good-quality books, LP records, CDs and DVDs, comic books, and other book materials. Learn more
Summer Book Sale & Books for Teachers
Out of an abundance of concern for the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and patrons, Pequot Library will not be able to host its 60th Summer Book Sale in the traditional way this year. We are working hard to re-imagine the book sale and hope to be able to offer books for sale online, including rare and unique books. Stay tuned!
