FAIRFIELD — Just as the running of the Kentucky Derby is an annual tradition, so too is the Pequot Library’s celebration of the horse race.

For the 143rd Kentucky Derby, Fairfielders gathered on the library’s Great Lawn on Saturday, May 6.

The 8th annual Derby Day fundraiser, which raises money for the library’s general fund, started outside before relocating to the auditorium to watch the “Run for the Roses” on the big screen.
