Farmer's Market

Saturday, March 05, 2011, 10:00am - 04:00pm

photo_for_Robyn-fresh_tomatoes_compressedAs part of Fairfield's One Book One Town celebration, Pequot Library will sponsor local farmers, beekeepers, breadmakers and more! Participants will be selling their goods and giving short presentations on their craft, for example, raising bees, and on sustainability and 'eating green'.

Supporting local farmers and artisans is a great way to insure that these small farms and industries continue to exist. As Jonathan Safran Foer talks about in his book, Eating Animals, Fairfield's One Book One Town 2011 choice, food safety, the ethical treatment of animals, and sustainability are important considerations for each of us as we choose what we eat.

For more information see the Fairfield Citizen article from Wednesday, March 2.
