Perkin Gallery Layout

History:
The Perkin Gallery was created during the restoration of Pequot’s original building in 2005/2006. The founding of the Gallery was made possible by a donation from the Perkin Fund in memory ofPerkin_Gallery__Display__Case_-_May_2008_003_Cropped_edited_resized_for_website John Thorne Perkin.

The Perkin Gallery is a wonderful space for exhibiting art. It has been filled with the work of local photographers, printmakers, and painters as well as with Library-sponsored exhibitions.

The Gallery also houses an exhibit case which is a showcase for the Library’s Rare Books. Whenever possible, we match the books on display with the theme of the current art exhibition, bringing art and literature together.

The accessibility of the Gallery is also one of its strengths. People passing through the Library can’t help but stop and look at the art. And the children love it too!
