Derby Day

Pequot Library’s Derby Party is held on the first Saturday in May on the Great Lawn of the Library and features frosty Mint Juleps, Kentucky fare, Blue Grass music, and prizes awarded to “Best Tailgate” and “Best Derby Hat.” The highlight of the Day occurs when everyone comes into the Auditorium to view the race which is projected live in high definition on our big screen. Attendance is either by individual ticket or as a reserved tailgate space. Those choosing to tailgate receive four tickets, a special 3pm early entrance, and parking in a designated spot on the Library’s Great Lawn. Pequot Library’s Derby Day Party our newest fundraising event.

This year's Derby Day, the 138th Run for the Roses will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 4 pm. Tailgates and tickets are going fast, so reserve yours online today!

Golf Outing

The Golf Outing is held at an exclusive links-style course overlooking Long Island Sound and the scenic village of Southport, Connecticut. The course is consistently ranked among the area’s very best. The Golf Outing is a rare chance to play this hidden gem, while supporting the Library. Registration for the shotgun tournament includes a luncheon, contests with prizes, and a post-golf cocktails and hors d’oeuvres reception. A silent auction features rounds of golf at a number of exclusive courses. The tournament is Pequot Library’s third largest fundraising event of the year.

The 7th Annual Golf Outing will be held this year on May 29, 2012. Go to our Calendar of Events to learn more or to register your foursome today!

For more information about the Golf Outing or sponsorship opportunities, please call (203) 259-0346 ext. 13.

Art Show
Pequot Library’s Art Show is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers. It gathers the community together and furthers the Library’s primary goals-- bringing literature, music, art, science and the humanities to its patrons. The show features over 200 pieces of art by gifted artists, whose talent and participation help make the Art Show such a success for Pequot Library. Each year, the Art Show Committee also reaches out to local galleries and arts organizations to invite those accomplished artists to showcase their work in our Show. This event is our second largest fundraiser after the Book Sales.

The Art Show is held each October and planning is underway already for the 15th Annual Art Show. Stay tuned for more information!

Thank you to all our 2011 Art Show Sponsors!
