What is a tribute gift?Tribute gifts, donations made in memory of a deceased loved one or in honor of an important event or person, are a wonderful way to honor the special people in your life. Many families choose, in lieu of flowers, to ask family and friends to donate to the Library in memory of a lost loved one. Tribute gifts can also be given in honor of a person—for a special birthday, a holiday, an anniversary, or even just because! How is my gift recognized? For each tribute gift the Library receives, we place a book in our collection. Each book has a tribute bookplate affixed in it, with both the name of the donor and the name of the person in whose memory or honor the gift has been given. We encourage tribute donors to suggest a genre or type of book as they make their gift, as we try, whenever possible within the guidelines of our collection, to place each bookplate in a book that the person being honored would enjoy. Tribute books enrich the history of both the Library and our community, with the memories of the members of our community and the things that were important in their lives. How can I give? As with all donations, Pequot accepts gifts of cash, check, credit card and stocks.
