Pequot Library Mission Statement

Pequot Library, through friendly, encouraging, professional service, strives to provide the quality materials and programs that reflect the needs and interests of the people of Fairfield and its vicinity. The Library promotes reading for the education and enjoyment of adults and children. The Library encourages children to develop and maintain an interest in books and reading through programs and special activities. The Library strives to integrate its Special Collection into its day-to-day service to the community through exhibits, programs, and by facilitating its use and enjoyment by the community, researchers, scholars, and writers. The Library seeks to engage the pressing issues of the day with information, library materials, and programs. The Library sponsors and encourages the use of its historic building for a wide range of cultural, educational, and community events.
