Pequot Library Mission Statement
Pequot Library brings literature, music, art, science, and the humanities to our community. For over 125 years, Pequot Library has been a cultural beacon for Fairfield, Southport Village, and beyond, providing professional, encouraging library services and vibrant and diverse programming.
Pequot Library is listed in the The National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation.

2015 State Publicity Award Winner!
Pequot Library is the winner of the Connecticut Library Association's 2015 Publicity Award for Print Media - Newsletter. The six-page full color newsletter, Under the Arches Spring/Summer 2014 issue, celebrated the 125th year anniversary of Pequot Library bringing culture to life.

Library built by, and given to the town, by Virginia Marquand Monroe, founded in 1889.
